The Tables Turn looking for actors
First Take is an award-winning independent filmmaking organisation specialising in working with diverse communities producing edgy, authentic, untold stories.
This 3 year project 'Reel Recovery' is funded by Big Lottery Reaching Communities and Liverpool City Council. We will produce 4 short films per year for the first two years and a feature film in 2020. 'The Tables Turn' is the first of the short films to be produced.
Grace late 40s, hard-hearted, ruthless Work Coach at the Department of Work and Pensions struggles with balancing work pressure and caring for her father who has the onset of dementia. She doesn’t care about her clients, just the rules and targets, she doesn’t understand their suffering nor does she want to. When she becomes unemployed herself and the tables turn will the reality of the injustice hit home.
Date of Audition on Monday 18th June 2018 in Liverpool City Centre. The roles are unpaid although travel expenses and food will be provided for all production days. A copy of the film will be provided and you will be invited to any screening. Will let you know how the film is doing on the festival circuit. Please note that expenses will not be paid for auditions.

Single mum struggling to make ends meet. Kindhearted and caring who always sees the good in people.
Mike Farley 35yrs old Male
Unemployed claimant who is angered by the system.
Grace,s Dad in his 80,s Male
Suffers from early onset dementia. Gets disorientated, loves dancing which he loved to do with his late wife.
Lee 19yr old Male
Homeless man desperate, alone in the world
Smart, assertive man/woman. Managers work coach.
