Seeking voice actors for retro-style 1940s radio comedy-drama
20 to 75
Full Details of Job / Opportunity
I'm a London-based writer looking to get together a bunch of people to record - purely for fun/experience/exposure - a retro-style radio comedy-drama of mine. (Think early Hitchcock films like The Lady Vanishes - or, in more contemporary terms, Downton Abbey with guns.) Set in late 1940s England, the project requires several male and female voice actors, 20s-70s, who can comfortably speak in non-parodic, authentic-sounding mid-20th-century RP. Also involved are three distinctive accent roles (male) - Caribbean, German and Polish.
Being close enough to London to be able to meet up would probably be helpful, as would some interest and knowledge of the period, and/or familiarity with 1940s British cinema or radio.
As mentioned above, this is a just-for-fun type thing, and at this point I’m just testing the water. So if you’re at all interested in a project of this kind, I’d be happy to hear from you.
