Full Details of Job / Opportunity
Sunset by Martin Foreman
Revival of a one-woman play (35 - 40 mins) to run for one week in the Edinburgh Fringe in a popular central venue.
Sunset is the portrait of a grandmother remembering her first date, the man she married and their life together.
We are looking for a female actor / actress, playing age 60+, who can offer a sustained portrayal of a character whose life has involved significant emotional upheaval, on a thrust stage in an intimate venue.
Rehearsals in Edinburgh in July 2019. Performance in theSpace on Niddry Street probably 5th - 10th August at 17.25, or either week following.
No rehearsal expenses, including time and travel, will be paid. A performance fee will be paid at the rate of 75p per audience member; it should be noted that while every effort will be made to publicise the production, Fringe audiences sometimes reach only single figures. The venue capacity is 70+.
Auditions are scheduled for Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings 27th January to 4th February in central Edinburgh. (Other days and times can be arranged as necessary.) Candidates will be expected to prepare - preferably memorise - any two paragraphs / sections from the script to demonstrate different aspects of the character as they would portray her.
