Full Details of Job / Opportunity
This year our art for social change charity Genie In The Gutter is producing its first professional musical theatre production, One Man’s Story, which has ambitious long-term goals. The musical is being co-produced with service-users from our charity, and performed with a combination of emerging, professional and well known/seasoned artists.
Lead role: Bongo Eddie who was a world class percussionist and member of the world-renowned Kid Creole and the Coconuts for over 30 years.
Lead role requires an excellent actor who has a very convincing or authentic New York/American accent. The actor will need to be able to play Bongo Eddie’s larger than life personality, and portray his confident and gregarious attitude. Acting is the primary skill required for this role, although dancing and rhythm do play their part too.
