Female Performers for Monologue Projects 'Hiatus'
18 to 70
Full Details of Job / Opportunity
Birmingham-based writer/film maker requires female performers for a series of monologue projects.
The main synopses may be:
“The War Widow” – Playing age 40+
The Haunting” – Playing age 20-30
“The Thief” – Playing age 17-18
Scripts are very fluid, however, and can be tailored/tinkered accordingly!
Applications are invited from all ethnic backgrounds, looks, sizes and sexual orientation and no previous performing experience is necessary, The role(s) would be paid (although the amount is unclear at present).
Projects will be, mostly, single-handed monologues featuring a lone female character.
Looking for – primarily - first-time actresses/female extras who are midlands-based and over the age of 18, for a wide range of potential – if small, very low-key and very low-budget single-handed – projects. Particularly looking for individuals who are:
Inexperienced Late Starters/tentative ’rusty’ returners (meaning that there is no upper age limit for applicants, providing that they are fit and active),
‘Extras’, who are, perhaps, contemplating (or, at least, wavering) as to whether to ‘upgrade’ to small speaking roles, or
Applicants who feel that their looks, ethnicity, social background or other issues are preventing them from being considered for projects.
To this end, I am prioritising applicants who only have very few (if any) ’castings’ to their name, in order to give them a better shot.
Selected applicants will have one-to-one to discuss possible scenarios, before being auditioned.
